SCOPE OF PRACTICE

Honest about our lane.

Performance Longevity Co. is a coaching practice. Not a medical practice. This page lays out exactly what we do, what we don't do, and why that distinction matters for every client we work with.

WHAT WE DO

The structured work around the prescription.

PLC provides personalized health and performance coaching services. Our scope of practice covers:

  • Nutrition strategy and macronutrient programming
  • Resistance training and conditioning program design
  • Lifestyle coaching, including sleep, stress management, and recovery
  • Dietary supplementation guidance using commercially available, non-prescription products
  • Body composition assessment and tracking
  • Education on health, performance, and longevity topics
  • Working with lab results provided by the client to optimize the variables within our scope

This is the structured work that determines whether a client's protocol, training, or recovery plan actually delivers what it was started for. It is everything around the prescription, not the prescription itself.

WHAT WE DO NOT DO

The lane that stays with your medical providers.

PLC is not a medical practice. Our coach is not a licensed physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner, registered dietitian, pharmacist, or mental health professional. PLC does not provide medical care and does not establish a doctor-patient relationship with clients.

Specifically, PLC does NOT:

  • Diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease, illness, or medical condition
  • Prescribe, recommend, or advise on the use of any prescription medications, including but not limited to GLP-1 receptor agonists, testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, thyroid medications, or other hormones
  • Prescribe, recommend, or advise on the use of any peptides, including but not limited to research peptides, compounded peptides, or peptides obtained outside traditional clinical channels
  • Advise on the sourcing, selection, vendor evaluation, dosing, titration, scheduling, stacking, or cycling of any prescription medication, peptide, or controlled substance
  • Provide clinical interpretation of laboratory results or other diagnostic data
  • Recommend specific laboratory testing vendors or panels for the purpose of guiding medication or peptide use
  • Advise on adjustments to any medication or peptide protocol prescribed or directed by another provider
  • Replace ongoing care from your medical providers

If you have questions or need guidance in any of these areas, we will refer you to a qualified, licensed clinical provider. That is the line. We hold it.

THE CLINICAL LAYER

How the clinical questions get answered.

We partner with Marek Health for clinical-grade lab work, physician oversight, and the prescribing pathway when it is the right fit. Marek's board-certified clinicians handle the diagnostic interpretation, the medical decisions, and any prescription decisions that may come from your panel results. PLC builds the structured coaching work around their clinical layer.

That division of labor is the whole point. Clinical decisions stay with licensed medical providers. The nutrition, training, supplementation, and body composition work that determines whether your protocol actually delivers stays with us.

YOUR MEDICAL TEAM

We work alongside, not instead of, your medical care.

Every PLC client is expected to maintain a relationship with a licensed primary care provider. We will work with your existing medical team where appropriate, and we will refer you back to your medical provider whenever questions arise that fall outside our scope.

You agree to consult your medical provider before making significant changes to nutrition, training, or supplementation routines, particularly when managing existing medical conditions, taking prescription medications, or experiencing new or unusual symptoms.

In the event of a medical emergency, contact emergency services or your medical provider immediately. Do not contact the Coach in lieu of emergency care.

WHAT YOU AGREE TO

What every client acknowledges before we start.

The following acknowledgments are built into our client agreement and re-affirmed in writing by every client before coaching begins. They are stated here so you can read them before any engagement begins:

Regarding substances:

  1. You are solely responsible for any decisions regarding the use, sourcing, and dosing of prescription medications, peptides, or other substances, whether obtained through a licensed clinical provider or otherwise.
  2. PLC has no role in, knowledge of, or responsibility for any substance you choose to use that has not been prescribed and supervised by a licensed medical provider.
  3. You agree not to solicit advice from the Coach regarding the use, sourcing, or dosing of any prescription medication, peptide, or controlled substance, and the Coach will decline to answer such questions if asked.
  4. PLC's coaching services are provided to support your overall health, nutrition, training, and body composition goals, regardless of what protocols you may be following under your own direction or under the direction of another provider. Coaching delivered in this context does not constitute endorsement, guidance, or supervision of any such protocol.
  5. You agree to disclose any prescription medications, peptides, or substances you are currently using to the Coach for the limited purpose of allowing the Coach to design a safe and appropriate nutrition, training, and supplementation program. This disclosure is not a request for medical advice and will not be treated as such.

Regarding lab data:

  1. Any laboratory results, biometric data, or diagnostic information you provide to PLC will be used solely to inform nutrition, training, supplementation, and lifestyle programming within our stated scope of practice.
  2. PLC will not provide clinical interpretation of lab results, will not diagnose conditions based on lab data, and will not recommend medications or medical interventions based on lab findings.
  3. Lab results suggesting potential medical concerns will be referred back to your medical provider or to a clinical partner of your choosing.
  4. You are responsible for ensuring that any lab data provided was obtained through appropriate and legal channels.

The lane is the work.

Coaching practices that blur the line between coaching and medical care put their clients at risk. Clients deserve to know exactly what they are getting, where their coach's scope ends, and who is responsible for the clinical decisions that affect their bodies. We hold this line for two reasons: it is the law, and it is the right way to run a coaching practice that takes client outcomes seriously.
